Turning Waste into Gold – EI’s S.O.R.T. Success!

Did you know? Emerald Isle was recently recognised by the Indian Pollution Control Association (IPCA) for excellence in composting under their S.O.R.T. initiative. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of our Organic Waste Converter (OWC) team and the guidance of Eco Crusaders, we now compost 300 kg of wet waste daily. EI was lauded for producing top-quality compost through efficient processes. Kudos to all residents for championing a greener tomorrow!

EI Library Inaugurated at CH2 – 1st Floor!

We’re excited to share that the L&T Emerald Isle Library has been successfully inaugurated at Clubhouse 2, 1st Floor. In just one week, it has welcomed enthusiastic readers of all ages!

The library is open 6 days a week and offers a peaceful space to navigate, easy Check-in & Check-Out, discover, and connect.

An 8-year-old dynamo, is making waves as a district-level skater and gymnast with an adventurous spirit. From water zorbing and waterfall rappelling to cliff diving and rock climbing in the Sahyadris, she fearlessly embraces challenges. Trekking since the age of 6 with her supportive parents, she proves that "nothing is difficult in life." In a recent interview on the podcast Women in Power (WiP), Abhishikta Das, founder of Celebrino Food and Beverages Private Limited, discussed her journey in establishing Re'nao, a brand specializing in non-alcoholic beverages. Avnish Anand, Co founder & Ex- CEO of CaratLane, has been an influential part of the company's journey since its early days. Starting as CaratLane's first employee, he played a key role in building the brand's omnichannel presence and expanding its reach across India. Arjun Khemani from our society is a 17-year-old school dropout who has charted an unconventional path as a tech entrepreneur, writer, and podcaster. Known for his engaging podcast, The Arjun Khemani Podcast, he explores themes of human progress, rationality, and philosophy, hosting prominent thinkers like David Deutsch and Naval Ravikant. He is Support lead at Airchat, a social network co-founded by Ravikant, Arjun showcases his entrepreneurial spirit. He also writes a Substack, Progress Good, delving into optimism, enlightenment, and societal advancements, reflecting his passion for impactful ideas.

Vidit Gujrathi has been instrumental in leading India's chess team to new heights. At the 2024 Budapest FIDE Chess Olympiad, Vidit contributed significantly to India’s gold medal win in the Open section—marking the country's first-ever gold at this prestigious event. His consistent performance across the tournament helped the Indian team maintain its dominance throughout, culminating in their historic victory against toptier global teams.

Recognized among India's Top 100 AI and Analytics Leaders, she has a proven track record in driving revenue growth, cost optimization, and sustainability. A certified PMP and TOGAF professional, she is passionate about mentoring women and promoting diversity in technology.

Binod Agarwal, a former Indian Navy staffer residing in our society, raised concerns about the poor road conditions in the Aarey area, especially during the monsoon season. His plea reflects the residents' struggles, emphasizing the urgent need for repairs to prevent accidents and improve safety and accessibility in this busy area. Following the Bombay High Court’s directive to civic authorities, roads in Aarey Colony's residential areas are now being repaired. Kudos to Binod 👏

I’m excited to share that Prof. Upasna A. Agarwal from our society, along with co-authors, has published an inspiring case study, “Devita Saraf and Vu from the Top,” with Harvard Business School Publishing. This study delves into how gender shapes entrepreneurial success, featuring Devita Saraf’s remarkable journey in building a premium TV brand. We applaud Prof. Upasna for this achievement and extend thanks to IIM Mumbai’s Director, Prof. Manoj Tiwari, for his support.
